Chain Ripple Belt

from [AOH] Designs
(4) Name: 'Crocheting : Chain Ripple Belt
Chain Ripple Belt
Chain Ripple Belt

Pattern Description:

Wear this ripple belt over a tunic or dress to add fashion and flair. The easy to work and easy-to-wear style can be made in an evening and worn the next day. I designed the belt to be worn at the waist, with the ends overlapping in the back, but they can also overlap in front. The chains wrap around and tie in the front.

A note about the pattern: I prefer to write patterns that can be easily worked to your exact specifications. This means, you can use whatever yarn and hook you please, and get a belt that fits you perfectly. My approach is to have you get started by swatching your chosen yarn and measuring yourself or the intended recipient of the belt.

After a couple of quick and easy calculations, you're ready to go and you've already tried out the stitch pattern, so there should be no worries or needless ripping and resizing.

The model belt is worked at a gauge of 12 stitches per 4"in the chain ripple pattern.

Gauge is adjustable in this pattern -- see pattern description.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The model belt is 31"long not including the chain ties.

  • Yarn used in model belt: 1 skein Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Hand Dyes [100g per 91m, 50% alpaca, 50% merino], #2014 Olive
  • USI/5.5mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain desired gauge
