This hat design was inspired by my five year old train obsessed son. The picture is a tribute to his favourite train - Thomas the Tank, his tender and his two loyal passenger carriages Annie & Clarabel. I laboured over this pattern for many months but am thrilled with the end result. Now you too can make a fabulous hat for the little man in your life! This hat uses LIGHT worsted weight yarn and a 5.0mm (US H) hook. This hat has very little stretch so I recommend making it equal or LARGER than head circumference.
sc worked over 9 stitches and 11 rows measures 2" square using hook 5.0mm (US H)

I first learned to crochet at school camp when I was about 11 years old. I have crochted on and off for years but really took it up again with a vengeance about seven years ago as a way to keep myself stimulated (and sane!) whilst being home with my two babies.
I now have a successful pattern design business which I love. My head is constantly full of ideas and my house overflows with balls ...
