My mom and Nanny taught me to crochet when I was little. But it wasnt until after I had all my kiddos that I really started to do it. I learned what they hadnt taught me from youtube. I taught myself to read pattern something my mom and grandmother still dont know how to do. I started out just making stuff for my family. But after finding a group of crocheting ladies and with their advice and the support of my family I started my own page selling hats and things. It wasnt long after that that I started playing around coming up with my own stitch combinations and branched off into designing. I hope to improve and get batter at crocheting and writing patterns. I am always excited to learn something new :)
I use an I and N hook to make these hats. However, because the pattern does not use a gauge and is measured to achieve the correct size, any size hook or yarn can be used. You will need one of the hooks to be a few sizes bigger to accommodate the triple stranding for the bow piece.
You will need 2 different colors of yarn, contrasting colors work best. I prefer worsted weight, but again since gauge is not an isssue you could use any type of yarn really.
Not important, we will measure to acheive the desired size.
