Well, I love granny squares! They were the first thing I learned to crochet and they are just so versatile!! What can't you make from a granny square?
I also love babies, and have several grandchildren with more coming in the future (I hope) and this hat can be made for a baby boy or a baby girl. The cap is adorable by the way, well they both are!
This can be made in a couple of evenings, maybe in just one if you don't get easily distracted like I do! It's the perfect quick shower gift, or a great new baby or grandbaby present! I'm thinking i you had time, you could make one of these hats, then keep going with the little granny squares and whip up a matching blanket!!
Anyhow, you will have great fun making these hats and you are welcome to sell them too. ?
The granny squares are 3", and the single crochet around the brim using a G hook: 4 sts = 1"; 5 rows = 1"
