I have seen so many things made in the basket weave stitch...blankets, shawls, hats, headbands etc. I fell in love with the look of a basket weave hat. I just had to make one for ME to wear. I never make anything for me so you can imagine how excited I was when I finally got one finished. This pattern fell in to place for me much quicker then I had planned and before I knew it, I had a hat made in all sizes. This is my daughters favorite hat to wear (and believe me, she has MANY to choose from) and it is my only hat. I love it.
Due to the nature of the stitch, it keeps me very warm.
I just love making this hat and I hope you do to!

I am WAHM of 3 wonderful kids. I crochet in my spare time but my "real" job is taking care of them. They sure do keep me busy but I love every second of it. I started crocheting when I was 8 years old and I hope to one day pass the craft on to one or all of my kids. I love creating a variety of things both from patterns and freehand. I first opened Mel's Crocheted Creations in 2010 and I have loved every minute of it. I really love being able to create custom items. I am slowly adding some of my own patterns to my shop so please stop by often and check it out.View all patterns by designer (11) »
