Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Pattern is written using standard US stitches.
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • dtb = double treble crochet
  • magic circle/adjustable ring See attached tutorial
  • inv hdc dec = Invisible half double crochet decrease. Yarn over, insert hook through front loop of first stitch. Insert hook through front loop of second stitch. Yarn over and pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through all three loops on hook.
  • sc dec = Single crochet decrease. Insert hook under both loops of first stitch. Pull through a loop. Insert hook under both loops of second stitch, pull through a loop. Yarn over and pull through all three loops on hook.

Pattern Description:

WHHOOOOO! is the cutie in the owl bib???? Keep baby dry and in rockin' style with this adorable drool/burp/spit bib.

Babies spit, burp and drool a lot so use soft cotton or cottonblend yarn to keep baby dry and cute as a can be.

Approx. 6 1/2 inches wide and 12" (from tip of strap to bottom of bib) long.

GAUGE: Gauge checkpoints are given in the pattern. Exact gauge is not essential in this project. When checking gauge, measure from the last stitch made all the way across.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 61/2" wide by 12" long (including straps)


  • Knit Picks Comfy Worsted 109 yards/50grams or equivalent
  • Main Color (MC)-approximately 75 yards/34 grams
  • Contrast Color (CC) (small amount)
  • 1 ball Black (small amount)
  • 1 ball White (small amount)
  • G (4.00 mm) hook
  • Velcro (hook and loop closure)

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch markers, yarn needle, needle and matching thread

Suggested yarn:

75 yards of Worsted weight
