Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Double crochet, single crochet, twisted stitches, magic circle, working in the round

Pattern Description:

Inspired by the wonderful fashions of Downton Abbey - particularly a coat of Anna Bates.

This is a wonderful pattern which makes the most of twisted stitches to create a textured but light scarf.


20 stitches x 10 rows worked in pattern = 10 x 10cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 1.2 metres x 0.2 metres


  • 5mm hook, 3mm hook, 2 different types of yarn - DK or worsted weight - - 250 metres of one, 100 metres of the other

You Will Also Need:

  • yarn needle, stitch marker

Suggested yarn:

350 meters of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Any brand - I used Sean Sheep (Australian)
