What You'll Need:
- The included Butterick pattern (sizes 6-12 or 14-20; a $15.95 value) or another pattern of your choice
- Fashion fabric and accent fabric such as silk shantung (At least 2 yards; amounts vary according to size)
- Lining fabric such as polyester
- Cotton flannel or other batting
- Shoulder pads
All of the above can be purchased as a Craftsy course kit for Sizes 6-12 and Sizes 14-20 (including the fabric Mary uses in the class)

- Presser feet: Straight stitch/zigzag, 1/4" foot (optional), embroidery foot (optional), clear appliqué foot (optional)
- Detachable seam or quilting guide
- Straight pins
- Fabric-marking pencil or tailor's chalk
- Dressmaker shears or rotary cutter and mat
- Clear plastic ruler with 1/4" grid

A favorite class
This has been one of my all time favorite Craftsy classes. I began by watching lesson 10 - just to be inspired by all the incredible jackets Mary has made. I then went back and watched all the lessons in order. Mary has an excellent presentation and the class is a visual treat. Not only do you see her sample garments but it's just as much fun to see what she is wearing! I would give this class 10 stars if I could.
A fabulous class!
If you are unsure about taking this class, let me assure you it is worth every penny and you will learn a lot! Mary really is a wonderful teacher and her warmth and passion come across during each lesson - but there is no haste. Each step is taken at a good steady pace and you see Mary sew every single step and stage giving a thorough explanation along the way. I have made my jacket and it wasn't at all difficult but be warned they do take time and are totally addictive, I am planning my second ...

The Fashionably Quilted Jacket
This is an excellent class. I learned so much right from the beginning class. Mary is very patient, knowledgeable and responsive. She answers all your questions quickly and clearly. While I didn't make the jacket with the notched collar, I did make a test of it and the fit is beautiful. I ordered the fabric through craftsy and it came from Mood very quickly. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

I previewed this class while waiting for my pattern to arrive and thoroughly enjoyed the class. Mary Ray is an excellent instructor and the class was very well presented. Her finishing techniques for the jacket really gave it a very professional look. I especially enjoyed seeing all of the lovely jackets and purses she showed for inspiration. I look forward to going through the lessons again as I construct my jacket. I hope to see her present another class here in the future.
