As demonstrated in her book, Patternmaking for a Perfect Fit, Steffani's "pin-through" technique to duplicate garments uses straight pins and kraft paper, tracing the design lines of garment elements with pinholes, then adding darts, pleats and other construction elements. Once you have a pattern, you'll learn how to make adjustments on a test muslin, then transfer those changes back to your pattern, creating a versatile pattern block you can change up with different design details.

You'll need garment sewing experience to get the most from this class, which demonstrates the basics of turning a 3D garment into a 2D paper pattern by copying a vintage blouse with Peter Pan collar, darts, pleats and pockets.
