Don't lose sleep over the characteristics of sheep; instead, get breed and fiber knowledge you can count on in Know Your Wool. In this class Deborah, co-author of "The Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook," will help you develop a nuanced understanding of different types of wool. She'll also share her secrets to effective swatching and tips on tracking down breed-specific yarns. The educational experience isn't confined to the classroom; you'll tag along with Deborah as she explores a wool market, meeting shepherds, vendors and sheep along the way.

I am a knitter for more than 60 years and know intuitively how to choose my yarns. People ask me to help but I can not explain why I make certain choices. These lessons help me to understand more about wool as a fibre. I received sock wool and the labelled Lincoln, now I know it is a sheep breed. Also the colour ranges from very light to dark. I now know that this breed changes colour as it age and that my wool is spun using that to full advantage.
These short videos are very informative, sheep are fantastic and we need to preserve those genitics!
Thank you so much. I have learned a lot. You inspire me to start spinning and knitting again.
I’m learning a lot from here .Thank you</strong>
