In Fair Isle knitting, the different colors of yarn are usually carried along behind the other colors as you knit across the row. You might have just one or two stitches in one color before switching to another, and then back. With intarsia, color appears in sections or blocks, and you begin each color block with a fresh piece of yarn. Sally shows how to make these color transitions smoothly and how to keep your yarn from getting all tangled up as you create your knitted work of art.
