Amigurumi: Design Your Own Monster

with Stacey Trock
Learn pattern design by doodling a monster and bringing it to life. Combine bodies and parts to create wild crocheted creatures your family and friends will love to cuddle.

When you think of "cute," you probably think of puppies, kittens or bunnies. We think of amigurumi monsters! In this class, you'll learn every step of the process to design and crochet your own cuddly, super-adorable amigurumi creature.  Use a range of different shapes, including circles, cylinders and spheres, to create various monster parts, like heads, arms and legs. Combine these parts in numerous ways to create truly unique monsters. The secret to success is smart planning and good design — you'll learn both in this class. Also included are eight monster patterns designed by Stacey. Make them just as she does, or customize them to make your own!

"While there are hundreds of amigurumi patterns and pattern books out there, there are very few (one?) books that address the secrets behind actually designing your own. This class took every last bit of the mystery out of it for me. ... Stacey was a great instructor. Clear, friendly, and not too repetitive or chit chatty. She laid out the formulas very plainly in such a way that It was easy to understand ... I feel like this class set me free from ever having to follow a pattern again."
