Excellent The Couture Dress  May 16, 2012

I loved this class! Where I live we do not have sewing classes for anyone. Most of the high schools have dropped it from their class selections as well. My sewing skills are advanced, but not polished. As I took this class I found myself saying over and over again, "Oh....THAT'S how its done". Excellent class with a teacher that explains why you use a technique instead of telling you to just do it. Thank you Susan.

Excellent The best of the BEST  May 15, 2012

This is the most useful, clear, and detailed on-line class I have ever taken -- and I have taken a number of them. Add expertise, experience, and approachability together and you get the "dictionary picture" of perfect, AKA, Susan Khalje. More classes with her, please!

Excellent Love these techniques  May 15, 2012

I learned more in this class than I did at 4 years of college. These methods give you so much more control. I have since made 5 bridesmaid dresses using all the techniques except the handsewn zipper. I am now working on the wedding gown and will do a handsewn zipper in it. I can't wait for another class Susan!

Susan's class is fabulous. I have learned so much that I can apply to my other sewing. I was so surprised that I enjoyed the details--Susan's teaching made working at that level desirable and interesting. Her instruction is clear, patient, and accessible to all. I highly recommend this class!

I enjoyed very much this class and learned a lot of things.
It will be phantastic if Susan gives more classes, e.g. for chanel style jacket.

I really like this class, even though I haven't started sewing my dress yet.

Let me Sew

Excellent More than I could've hoped for!  May 15, 2012

Let me Sew

As an instructor, Susan is perfect. (And I am an instructional designer, so I should know!) She has complete mastery of the content; she is conversational and natural, but without any superfluous "chatter;" and she shows with great precision what she is doing. (Maybe that's partly the work of the camera operator, but still...) Furthermore, it is obvious that she cares a great deal about the subject and about her students. I could not believe that she actually replied to my question -- I assumed ...

Excellent Susan Khalje obviously loves to teach her craft!  May 15, 2012

I'm still taking this course and I can't say enough about Susan Khalje's wonderful teaching style. She really explains the reasons behind what she does and gives wonderful tips. One example is the great way she explains the grain of fabric and why we cut on or off the grain. This is just taken for granted so much of the time. I've been sewing for more than 30 years and learned so much from that alone.
She really talks you through the structure of a garment. I'm loving this class.

Excellent Sewing Textbook  May 15, 2012

betsyfrompike

I have shelves of sewing books, many very good, but this class taught me more than all of them combined. For starters, many of them tell you to do something, but don't explain why. Now I understand. Also, many sewing books have things listed separately, like: underlining period. This class makes sense of how all those topics fit together and relate, and the why of doing it. Plus, she demonstrates on the hardest of fabrics, a textured, uneven plaid, while showing other types of examples on ...
