Weaving is more than fun. It's creative, relaxing, and rewarding. When you weave, you bring together different yarns and fabrics and unify them in a single, unique project. Weaving is versatile: Make clothes, accessories and home decor in fibers from plain to fancy. Even if you've never touched a loom before, I can teach you to make wonderful projects. My class will introduce you to two different looms, and guide you through preparation, the weaving process, and a range of finishing techniques. What You Will Learn in Rigid Heddle Weaving
- How to set up, use, and maintain 10- and 24-inch looms
- How to create a warp
- How to calculate correct yardage
- How to use different fibers and colors in one project
- How to weave two towels at a time on a single warp
- How to produce plaid projects
- How to finish projects with trims and fringes
Projects You Will Make in Rigid Heddle Weaving
- A fresh, funky "stashbuster" scarf
- A set of plaid cotton tea towels
- Apply the techniques to make table runners, wraps, washcloths, and more
What You'll Need:
- Any rigid heddle loom between 10" and 24" warp width may be used for this class. Angela demonstrates on a 10" Schacht Cricket Loom and a 24" Kromski Harp Loom. Check online for current prices and retailers, or ask your local yarn store.

Got the class before I bought the loom
I was interested in weaving but hadn't fully committed to it,, so I got this class to see if it looked like something I wanted to learn. Angela's instructions were clear and concise and made me think that yes, I could do this! I watched both sections of the video class (Cricket and Harp) all the way through twice, then started looking at looms. This class is amazing! I've owned a 24 inch rigid heddle loom and a Cricket for a few years now, but was too intimidated to get very far. I was not confident about warping or measuring or how to use the tools necessary to weave. Angela has provided so many enlightening tips in this class! I have had my Kromski harp for a while but was uneasy starting to weave. This class took me start to finish and I have made a scarf and placemats. Angela takes you step by step in a clear and concise way. Great delivery and clear pictures. Hope she teaches another class soon.
