Superb class for understanding shawl design
I really loved this class. Miriam's easy-going approach and style keeps your attention and doesn't overwhelm you with information. For me, the shaping and figuring out how to make the transition to different patterns was something I just couldn't wrap my head around. It made so much sense and I 'got it' pretty much the first time around (though I recommend listening to it more than once!).

Wow! What a class!
I must say I am a late bloomer. I always have known how to knit and have done a few pieces. However, now, at my old age and retired I have fallen in love with Lace Knitting. What a challenge!
I have found that this class has taken me to a new dimension, guiding me step by step in learning how to design and make my own shawls, not only copying somebody else's.
I have done two other shawls by following directions but not really understanding the whole process. Now, I do!

I have only knit one lace scarf before taking this class. I was so inspired, that I have started a lace shawlette. I will knit a couple of patterns written by others and then I will try to design one of my own. I will design some swatches first, and see how they look knitted up. I am a math teacher, so the math part of the design was fun. The instructor's explanation was clear, and she she did a great job. I would like to take other classes from her.
