Fun class, Great Value
My only experience with knitting was decades ago and it was pure torture. This was truly fun and I just completed my scarf pieces last night. Though I have to put them together and weave in ends, I am thrilled!
I thought the close up shots and the number of times she repeated each step was very helpful. Good camerawork! The download materials are also great. I didn't even know there were other projects after this.

Total newbie's perspective
This class was my first introduction to knitting, and I managed to learn just fine - I was already a crocheter though, so I more or less understand how to manipulate yarn, even if the knitting motion still feels awkward and unnatural to me. I think it's clear from the context what the teacher means usually, and I find it comforting that she tells you to simply eyeball lenghts etc (as opposed to going into maths stuff to get it "just right").

Great foundation course for skills with design and pattern overview included
I've been knitting for years but learned from my grandmother in bits and never was quite sure if I was doing things correctly. This course was a terrific foundation for me to make sure that my skills were correct. There was also a very helpful analysis of basic design and pattern reading so that those individual skills made sense in a larger way. Stefanie was a terrific instructor. This was a terrific class. I like easy and relaxed hobbies. I know basic knitting, but had been away from it so long. I ended up in the Arctic teaching, and wanted to do something in the evenings. The project fit easily in my computer bag, and I found it so pleasant to be able to boot up my laptop and learn. The weather was -55 with windchill, each day, and I ended up hitting the local co-op for more yarn for more scarves for complete. Thanks Stefanie! You are such a good instructor.
