This is a really great class for beginning-to-intermediate crocheters who are ready to master more advanced skills! This class uses an easy-to-make baby sweater to help students learn how to shape, sew, and read patterns and crochet charts. All of these skills apply to any garment, but the smaller scale of a baby sweater is the perfect way to move beyond scarves and other beginner-type projects without becoming overwhelmed.

I enjoyed this relaxed and in-depth class very much. Structured and clear, easy to follow, and it gives - as someone below put it - quick satisfaction. I would like to see this class become a mini series with part 2: crocheting the matching beanie or bonnet, then tiny shoes, mittens... :D

Thank you, Linda, for your excellent course Beyond Rectangles. I have never made a crochet garment despite knitting countless ones. I made the cardigan on this course for my new granddaughter's christening. I used white cotton and hexagonal shaped pearl buttons and it was really sweet. I found Linda's instructions really easy to follow; she also has a lovely quiet, unhurried method of approach to her lessons so I did not feel hassled following the course. beginner and beyond, great class
very enjoyable class, the quick satisfaction of finishing up a cute little cardigan. I used a thicker yarn, with a worsted wool, and made the cardigan for my 3 year old niece, pretty much following the pattern and lessons, with minor adjustments regarding size, but the thicker wool and corresponding crochet took pretty much care of the bigger size. Linda guides you precisely and gently through everything you need to know.
