- Sewing machine with feed dogs that can be lowered, and an extension table or something your machine fits down into
- Free-motion or darning foot, walking foot (optional)
- Bobbin thread
- Your choice of fabrics and quilting threads
- Topstitch needles: 14 works for most purposes, but you may need 10 or 12 for filler stitches and 16 for heavy threads
- Spray baste
- Quilt Pounce powder or another way to mark motifs
- White paper for free-form drawing
- Thread snips or small scissors
- Basic sewing and quilting supplies

The class content is wonderful and full of a lot of useful information. I have learned quit a bit so far. I'm only about half way through it.
I have to say I am a little upset that playing the video proved a little more tricky. Turns out you can not play it in Chrome. I tried turning off the HD feature. The video just wouldn't load. I went to internet Explorer and signed in and class played/loaded just fine.
Never thought I could do it but Ann made it fun and easy
I thoroughly enjoyed this class and learned far more than expected. Not only does Ann teach different ways to use and complete free motion quilting, she gives wonderful instruction on how to assemble the quilt sandwich, basting, thread weight, blocking, and more. Can't wait to take more of her classes. Thank you Ann.
This is the class that really made FMQ a realistic option for me!
I have tried a lot of classes over the years trying to learn FMQ and have never gained enough skill or confidence to try it on one of my quilt tops. Ann Peterson's lessons just clicked for me, and I am really happy with the piece I made in this class. It's far from perfect, but nowhere near as bad as what I've done before. Excellent teacher for an excellent class
This class was very interesting, Ann is showing a lot with her sewing machine, so we can understand very easly how to do. She explains very well step by step, this video is clear and very easy to follow. I am quilting the sampler, of the class, I already progressed a lot with Ann's method. she is a so pleasant teacher.
