I have been a knitter for more years than I actually like to think about. I can still remember the first needles and pink yarn that I made into long swatches. A cousin taught me the knit stitch, an aunt taught me how to purl. My Cousin Lelah Mae taught me how to put it all together and cast on. I basically taught myself to crochet. My first love is knitting though. I also cross stitch and quilt. I used to love to sit with my grandmother and help her put pieces of quilts together. A lot I have just learned from doing it. I do have a knitting teacher certificate from the Craft Yarn Council. I would love to retire and produce works of art.
I knitted my daughter's wedding veil from lace weight wool.
Just about anything with fiber will catch my attention. I have a spinning wheel but am still learning the art of spinning.
