I was taught to knit by my librarian, Stacey Walter, bless her. Because of my crochet background, I was able to learn to knit continental style from a video, I then took a sock knitting course, in which I made a peculiar little sock because I was unfamiliar with knitting with dpns, but I learned from the experience and am now quite a competent sock knitting. I prefer knitting toe-up, but can knit cuff-down and am beginning to enjoy kitchener stitch.
I taught myself to weave and also learned to use a 4-harness in a class when I lived in Bloomington, IN. B'ton is a great place for crafters, where I also learned to spin, one of the most relaxing and meditational skills I possess.
