My first escapade in needlework was when, at the age of 6 or 7, I "helped" my sister with her knitting (unbeknownst to her). She was a bit miffed at the dropped and extra stitches and gave me a couple of lessons. Another sister taught me to sew and crochet when I was 11 and the rest is history.
