My mother taught me to knit when I was five; she taught me how to sew on a button and do easy hand stitching. I didn't start using a sewing machine until I was about eight, and since then I have always been working on at least one project. My husband gave me a fabulous new sewing machine for Christmas 2011, and I have been trying free motion machine quilting; I make clothes, purses, quilts, and many other things.
