Four years ago I decided I wanted to learn how to knit. I didn?t know about Yarn Shops and classes I could attend or about sites like Ravelry that you could join. So my quest to learn how to knit was a journey I took on my own. I went to Walmart and bought a set of needles and a Skein of yarn(didn?t know it was called a skein at the time), sat down and began studying the booklet I picked up that was going to teach me to knit. Thus began my knitting life. I am a self taught knitter, in the beginning anyway. Since then I have come to know a community of knitters and have gleaned much from them. The learning never ends and I am glad about that. To this day I do not know what possessed me to do this. Where the desire to suddenly knit came from. Perhaps I was stressed, perhaps I needed a creative outlet. Whatever the case I am so glad I was moved to learn, I can?t imagine my life without it now!
