I first learned how to knit from my grandmother as a 6 year old.
Later as a teenager I taught myself to crochet. I had to lay my hook aside while my children were very young due to the high demand of care my son required (born disabled).

I did start sewing as I designed outfits for my son that used velcro openings instead of buttons and zippers to enable him to dress and undress himself. Once my children were old enough I picked up my needles and hooks and relearned the crafts. There is rarely a day that goes by that I'm not designing a new pattern and always crocheting and knitting.
