Amanda Davis, “Computer slayer by day and crafty diva by night”. I don't really know how and when it all started. It definitely wasn't procured in my “pre-college” schooling. My art teachers were inspirational saboteurs. I think my sewing teacher came from depths of Hades. However, my mother was a crafter...my aunts were crafters so I guess it was destined to be in my blood.
In college I was studying to be an attorney, yes, yes, don’t we all make hasty decisions when we are young because we know everything? So to keep that creative beast in me off of Prozac and out of the pokey, I was creating my own jewelry, designing my own decor, re-purposing old items into new and fun things…
I did get older and decide that my calling wasn’t in the bottom of the ocean with a thousand other attorneys. And now as a "well aged" adult my creative outlets span a gamut of mediums. Well that and actually having a regular income. So I don’t just have one venue. I dabble in several. But Textiles and Metals are my favorites, much to the chagrin of my teachers of the past.
