I've always been interested in making something from nothing. I guess, it's the artistic side of me I can express either in painting, crocheting, knitting, sewing or cooking. My sister-in-law showed me how to do the basic stitch in knitting when I was in 5th grade. I have mastered many things since then. I completed a degree in Elementary Education and have taught for 20 years and have 3 children of my own. Couldn't quite grasp or have the time to understand the purl stitch until now. Being retired has its bonsuses. Have started a sweater vest that I hope to finish soon. I learned how to crochet from my ex-mother-in-law and I have made the most items crocheting. I think, it's easier than knitting and definitely faster, but not always the prettiest or daintiest. I enjoy painting and have done two portraits of my granddaughters and one picture of Bell Rock in Sedona. I, also, like to cook and am finding recipes for Asian and Thai meals on-line. My husband and I are trying to eat more fresh vegetables and less meat plus the hot spices are suppose to speed up your metabolism. I like to sew and have made my granddaughter two dresses a piece. One for Valentine's Day with hearts on it and the other a pretty pink dress with spring flowers. I've, also, made Christmas Stockings for each of the Grandchildren and cloth storybooks.
