I was an odd child. I grew up as a tomboy, becoming the first girl to play in my little league, and, at the same time, playing with markers, glitter and glue when not on the field. I also grew up with a fantastic mother who at one time worked in a sewing factory. Whenever I told her I wanted or needed something, and we didn't find what we liked in the store, we would simply buy the materials needed and make it. I wore handmade clothes to school and used a handmade pouch for the remote control for my TV for a long time. In my teenage years, I started to realize that I had a passion for food. I originally had plans to go into an International Business program, but after making a French apple tart for my mother's friend for her birthday, she asked me why I wasn't going to culinary school. A light went off in my head, and I pursued that avenue. Now, I have a degree in Baking and Pastry, a degree in Culinary Arts and a degree in Culinary Nutrition. My "specialty" is products that cater to specific dietary needs like PKU-friendly foods, gluten free foods, vegan foods and so on. I returned to crafting in other realms as well around this time. I love card making, though I have gotten out of doing it regularly recently. I am absolutely in love with sewing and quilting as well. I love the technique of paper piecing because you can do some very cool things, and it doesn't require precise measurements...kind of like cooking!
