I was inspired by my grandmother who quilted and made braid rugs. Unfortunately she went blind but continued to make braid rugs using my eyes to make sure they lay flat on the floor. I am still going to try my hand at braid rugs but quilts are my favorite thing next to crocheting. A lady who helped out with the family at times taught me to crochet when I was a child.
