My Mamo (Grandma) had me piece scrappy pieces of material on a newspaper triangle when I was 16. I had to do this while at "theLake" before I could swim, ski, or go to the main channel and play ball tag on the pontoon with all the neighbors! Therefore, my first quilt was made as she quilted it for me on her blue Kenmore..! None of the other granddaughters were ever asked to do it.. Years later I decided I could do one....when I got out a log cabin box that I had started in the early 90's a couple of months ago...I found where I used chalk and then cut the strips.....oh how funny....times have certainly changed.....I did finish that quilt and gave it to a very good friend...I do not consider myself a quilter but I have come along way!! And am having a grand time and trying to show my older cousins what they missed out on! They each have a new but gently used sewing machine!
