I'm self taught in virtually every aspect of my artistic life... knitting from childhood, learned stained glass after college, graphic design on the job.... While my children were in school and still at home, I designed and created stained glass functional items (boxes, picture frames, etc.) which I sold to a chain of gift shops up and down the east coast while participating in numerous juried craft shows. Once they were in school full time, I went back to work full time and was given the opportunity to become a graphic designer.
At this point, I still work as a graphic designer but now for a non-profit that is strongly impacting the Philadelphia area. In addition, I own two shops on etsy - one full of my stained glass creations (JiSTglass) and one of my knitted creations such as fingerless gloves and knitted lace (JiSTknits). One of my goals is to figure out a way to combine knitting and stained glass into one art form.
Wish me luck!
