My mom was a wonderful seamstress. She taught all her daughters to sew expertly. I also joined 4H when I was young. Every item I entered won 1st place. It was very exciting as a child. I did not realize then what an art my mother and 4H had taught me. When I worked I made all my clothes and were very proud to wear them. I worked in a professional office until a serious injury in 1998. I am now totally disabled and in great pain daily. I took up quilting before My injury. My first quilt was a king size double Irish chain in yellows and orange. I took this class As an experience. It is my first on-line class. I have enjoyed it very much and will continue making quilts forever. I have given all except the first quilt mentioned away to family. The quilt blocks made through this class will be a king-size Sampler, I will keep it. I prefer to hand quilt, however my back injury prevents me from doing too much of this. I have tied many of my quilts and in the process of saving for a quilting machine. I have enjoyed seeing all the various blocks made.
