My life is pretty busy because I work full-time as a Registered Nurse Case Manager and up until this year, I have been doing distance learning part-time , so haven't had as much time to devote to my hobbies as I'd like. Currently, I"m taking a hiatus from academic learning (maybe a permanent one) and hopefully I'll be able to catch up on all my projects. I crochet, quilt, and sew as my main crafts. I also embroider, knit, scrapbook, garden, and do my own home maintenance and repair as I am able. I also love to cook vegan. In addition, I'm in the process of refinishing a dresser and have a pattern for an octagon picnic table that I would like to build.
I have been crocheting and embroidering since I was a child, took up sewing in my late teens, taught myself knitting in my twenties and quilting when I was in my 40s. I especially enjoy crocheting when I go to meetings, lectures, inservices, workshops. I find that keeping my hands busy actually helps me to concentrate on the meeting & I learn more. Otherwise I get bored and my mind wanders. :-)
