I started crafting in the 8th grade, I made a Christmas felt wall hanging for my mom. When our mom died, I wanted it because I had made it. Only my sister took it and won't give it back.
In high school I had home ec for 2 years, the first year we made an outfit to wear for a walk down the runway at school. I made a light yellow dress only it was supposed to be mini skirt type, not for my height or shape, pear shape and only 5'4". I made it with a below the knee hem. Our home ec teacher Mrs. Gertrude Guy agreed that the dress was made right for me.
Mrs. Guy had even taught me how to knit and crochet after school had let out.
When I was 10 my mom taught me how to do embroiderey.
I made a baby quilt for a friend when we were stationed in NY.
When my husband retired from the navy, he moved us back to his home town. In 2000, I signed up to take a quilting class at the Placer Hills adult school. Quilt teacher was Mrs. Dell Higgley.
I am currently hand quilting a wall hanging that I was making to give my mom in 2003 only my mom passed away in October that year. It has taken me a long time to get to the point that I can finish it. I will take a picture of it when I am finished with it, I will put it away safely, haven't a clue with what to do with it now.
I also dabble in Gallery Glass Window Painting.
