Currently, I am the Executive Editor of Vogue Knitting as well as Editor in Chief of Knit Simple, both published by Soho Publishing Co. I've been working with Vogue Knitting magazine since 1982 and have been in the hand-knitting industry for more than 30 years, working for various yarn companies and knitting magazine and book publishers in New York City. I'm responsible for all technical aspects of the magazines, working closely with Trisha Malcolm, Editor in Chief, on the editorial pages, and I even design for the magazines. You can see me representing both magazines at national and international trade shows and on our international knitting tour.
Knitting presentations take me all around the world: at knitting guilds, at the Vogue Knitting LIVE events, at yarn shops, and as a guest at knitting guilds. I also work with the Craft Yarn Council in organizing their various consumer events, such as Stitch 'N Pitch and teaching groups to knit (my favorite one being the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall!). In the past I've filmed numerous knitting segments for the Shay Pendray Needlearts show (on PBS) and the how-to section for knitting in the Art of Knitting DVD, Volume 2.
I learned to knit from my grandmother when I was 7 years old and have always been given guidance from my sister, knitwear designer Mari Lynn Patrick.
