Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Kid's Romper Revamp: Creative Pattern Adapting »

Instructions

The pattern is great. I lengthened the ties a little to make it easier to tie them. Shelly recommends doing this in the video.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Girls

Style: Cute, Casual

Materials

Main fabric--cotton knit Contrast fabric--kona cotton (Both were custom made at Spoonflower.com with my grand-niece's nickname "Ella-bean" printed in the pattern)

What was your inspiration?

Shelly Figueroa is an awesome instructor and she gave me confidence each step of the way.

What are you most proud of?

My seams line up quite nicely :-)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be sure to use the Wonder tape Shelly recommends to hold seams in place while you edgestitch. Also, follow Shelly's advice to lengthen the ties a little to make them easier to tie. This was my first time combining knits and wovens in one garment, and I learned which needle to use, the proper presser foot pressure, and to put the knit fabric up when sewing knit and woven fabrics together
