What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my ability to use my new knitting skills. I was able to pick up and knit the underarms to eliminate the holes, then knit and purl two together to decrease to the necessary number of stitches to complete the underarms.

Hello! LOVE the source and the reason for your inspiration KnitMavenMaevis. What a great tribute to both your Mom and Grandmom, one you can certainly wear with pride! I do have two question for the pattern pretty much true to size or did your have to make any adjustments with needles and/or number of stitches? Do you wear your shrug or did you make it just for the pratice? In any case, thanks for sharing your project with us. It looks professionally made, wonderful execution!

Thank you, Creativewan! The beauty of this pattern is you can try it on as you go. The first time I made the shrug, I used an acrylic yarn and the measurements for the M. The shrug finished true to the measurements given. When I made another using Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted, I fudged number and made it more in line with how closely I wanted it to fit. I'll post a picture of that one. I wear the acrylic one in summer on cool evenings, and the wool one during winter. I love them both! I often make shrugs using this pattern, experimenting with sleeve length and finishing technique. This is a great foundation pattern that you can experiment with very easily.
