What was your inspiration?
I wanted something warm and stylish to wear to my niece's wedding next February so I thought this would be nice. I especially thought it would be nice when I saw the fabric sitting on a 60% off table at the fabric store and really liked it. :)
What are you most proud of?
I also made a full length coat that looks exactly like the jacket only longer and with patch pockets on the front. The dress and coat are currently displayed at a county fair along with several ribbons including a purple grand champion and a lavender best in show ribbon. The dress, jacket and coat are also fully lined.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
You don't have to make it out of wool fabric. If working with wool, you really have to finish off seams well because wool fabric ravels very quickly.
