Your coat is beautiful. Is that a broomstick lace?

I haven't crocheted in over 15 years, I am interested in starting again. I am trying to make me a sweater coat but, I haven't learned many new stitches. Can someone lead me in the right direction to learn some?

somerbree, I would love to have this pattern. It would be a challenge for me to do while I'm laid up from surgery. Please email ASAP so I can get started. Thanks a bunch.

The pattern may be found in the 2008 winter issue of Crochet! magazine. It is called: Winter White Car Coat. The designer is Melissa Leapman, another designer I admire.

maybe now that I have seen your coat, I will get started on one I have been wanting to do for myself. Great job. How long did it take? Wait, don't tell me, I might not start after all. Love your coat, thanks for sharing

Actually, it didn't take very long--approx. 3 mos. intermittently. I started it around late Jan/early Feb and finished in time to wear it to church on Easter 3 yrs ago. It came in handy--that particular Easter was very chilly.
