Wilder Kaiser Cardigan

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The Perfect Fit Seamless Crazy Lace Cardigan »

Instructions

I did the increases on every fourth row, making the v-neck deeper. The cuffs of the sleeves were easy - reducing the amont of stiches to half by knitting two and two together and continuing on smaller needles.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Romantic

Materials

70% acrylic 30% mohair - 190 meters pr. 50 gr

What was your inspiration?

The jagged peaks of the Wilder Kaiser massif - the view from the balcony of the holiday lodge.

What are you most proud of?

Not giving up but reconsidering, ripping and redoing untill the result somewhat matched the idea I had in mind.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be sure to have an extra ball of yarn when knitting with mohair, as it tangles and breaks easily when ripped.

Thanks, and the lace pattern is available in the "talk" section. I chose a pattern from a shawl, it was to be knitted from the bottom up and didn't work out top down - so I reinvented a pattern to my liking using the Myra Formula.

I like the lace pattern you chose - and it looks very pretty in the long sleeve. it really looks nice in the back too. I am also planning to use the lace as an edging around the neck and front, inspired by your project and others that have made that choice. Thank you for sharing!
