What materials did you use? The Wee Bee Bag is made of medium weight cotton for the exterior of the bag but I used a contrasting quilting cotton for the lining. I hate handwork so I used a heat and fuse interfacing to adhere the pieces where I wanted them to be stitched. Instead of all that handwork I used a decorative stitch on my sewing machine to give it an embroidered look. I made this little bag with a metal frame but it can be made with a zipper instead. Instructions are available in the PDF. Ribbon legs hang down from the bag. Iridescent Organza gives a little shimmer to the wings attached to the bag.

What are you most proud of? Using a metal frame on the purse was a thrill for me. It is not a new idea but it was new to my sewing experience and while it looked intimidating it actually was so easy to do. I was showing the little bag to my granddaughters when their brother (5) saw it. He looked at it with as much interest as the girls did. As soon as they released the bag he grabbed it up and snapped it open, closed, open, closed.....see? It is just a fun idea! And anything that thrills the children, thrills me.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid of stepping out and trying something different! I had the metal purse frame for four months before I finally decided to use it. It was new to me but now that I have tried it I want to do more projects using purse frames. I just ordered more in different shapes and sizes! And just think....had I never finally tried it I would have missed all the fun!
