Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Romantic, Retro / Vintage

Materials

tulle, thread,a comb. and a spray of flowers- she could not find a head piece that she liked that would not flatten her hair.

What was your inspiration?

She could not find one that did not flatten her hair. I saw a spray of flowers and played with it, twisting it around to frame her face until we liked it.

What are you most proud of?

The veil that matched the wedding gown cost $400.00 and we could not afford it. I only got one month's notice to plan the wedding and pay for everything. She loved the one I made more than the original one from the store and was proud that she had an actual "original" of her own. I was thrilled that our "shoestring budget wedding" turned out to be one she was proud of. The cost of this one was only $20.00.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Choose a style that fits the dress and give yourself enough time to locate a pattern that is close to what the bride has in mind, if possible. You may have to make changes so that it will stay in place through the ceremony.
