I'm GiGi. I was born in Colmar, France.

Created in this Craftsy Course

The (Not So) Itty-Bitty Giraffe taught by Susan B. Anderson

It's no stretch to knit the cutest toy giraffe ever. Make a big, soft friend and expand your circular knitting skills to double-pointed needles.

What materials did you use? Lang Yarn Merino+ Superwash, light brown, cream and purple. But, I would never again use this yarn for any project. The yarn splits easily, and it begins to fuzz as you are working. If this were a sweater I would be really disappointed. I used buckwheat and lavender instead of plastic pellets for weighting, simply because I could not find the pellets in France. Styrofoam ones were available, but they had no weight. I used Comfort Luxe polyester stuffing which is a great filler, but it is pea-sized bits that can make their way out of the knitted piece. So, I would use something else in future projects.

What are you most proud of? This is a wonderful pattern, and easy to do with Susan's lessons and hints. I'm pround that she's finished and so darn cute!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't let the use of double points discourage you. It's a good skill to have and this is great project for learning or perfecting their use.
