What was your inspiration?
This color is so beautiful. I didn't know if I wanted it around my neck or on my feet but I decided to use it to make these socks for a second time. This pattern is very easy and is one of my favorites because the socks look beautiful on my feet. Dream in Color is a beautiful yarn with lots of depth and you can get inspired by looking at the colors alone.
What are you most proud of?
The yarn and pattern are a match made in heaven and I feel like my color choice works very well with the design. They fit like a dream!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I used size 1 double pointed needles and used only about 300 yards of yarn for this project. It moves very quickly. Also, there is a mistake in the pattern: It shows 9 rounds for the pattern but there should be a 10th round that is worked in the same manner as the other even numbered rounds. Also in the instructions for turning the heel, the first decrease you come to says to purl three together (p3tog) but this should read "p2tog" or purl two together and is just a typo.
This pattern is very easy and was the pattern that I used to complete my first pair of socks a few months ago, however if you're not completely confident about sock knitting this pattern may leave you feeling like there is too much to be left to interpretation. You should at least understand the basic construction of socks to use this pattern even though the knitting is easy.
