Quilting weight cotton in three different prints or colors for the owls bodies Felt for the beak and heart pocket (optional) Ribbon 6 for each hanging loop (optional) Buttons for the owls eyes Polyfill (or some other kind of stuffing material) Thread Printed pattern pieces (see the patterns at the end of the tutorial)
What was your inspiration?
I was asked to create a Valentine's Day tutorial for a showcase at Sew BitterSweet Designs (http://blog.sewbittersweetdesigns.com), so I based these off of an owl quilt block I'd learned in an online bee a few months prior.
What are you most proud of?
I love that they're easy to make, and fun for all ages!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take your time, play with fabrics, and feel free to experiment- there's a lot of room for customization.
