What was your inspiration?
I like geometry. Another shawl that I made use the diamond pattern as an edging. I thought it would be interesting to repeat that motif by itself.
What are you most proud of?
That this design was accepted by the Knit Picks Independent Designer Partnership (IDP).
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be patient with the yarn if you've never used lace weight before. It takes some getting used to. And use "sticky" needles like bamboo or other woods. This yarn will slide right off of metal one.
Use lifelines periodically. Sometimes it's faster to rip back a few rows than to try to pick up a dropped stitch in a lace pattern.
