I'm still working out some fitting issues but I had a lot of fun doing the top stitching. My butt is so big I can't make the waist small enough without making them impossible to pull over my hips so that's still an issue but nothing a good belt can't assist with.

I agree with cozynestdesign I think you have a great feminine figure. I'm on a pattern drafting course at the moment drafting a skirt. There was a suggestion to put what looks like a dart in the back seam to synch the waist in a bit to prevent that gaping you are getting at the back waist. Is that something you have tried? Or another thing that I just thought of, is, how about making up the front as a faux front. In other words, make it look like the jeans are proper jeans from the front, but actually they have an invisible zip opening at the side seam or the back seam with the zip tab hidden by the belt? You can then make the alterations for a good fit at the back waist but have a longer opening to climb into the jeans to get past your hips. A bit of extra work, but one of the beauties of home sewing is we can think outside the box and nobody else need know how we look so great! ;-)

Thanks Teresa, I like the idea of the faux front and the side size. I do have darts in back on this pair, I think I just need a longer zipper :)

These are great looking. I have the same waist/hip issue. I am so envious, you did a great job!

You did a great job - and you do not have a big butt!

I think they turned out great! I just bought this pattern and look forward to making it after I make my daughter some jeans.

Those are fabulous. And you don't have a big butt!

Girl, I wish my derriere was as tiny as yours! Your jeans look great, and now I'm going to have to buy this course. I really want an pair of jeans that have no stretch denim. You just cannot buy them ready to wear anymore unless you shop in the mens' dept, and I've got too much junk in the trunk for that! When younger, I had the same problem, large behind and small waist. Very hard to fit pants.
