What materials did you use? Yarn from eBay with Japanese label, it is some sort of washable wool, fingering weight, held double, 16" circular needles size US 4

What are you most proud of? The other project for this class, my first full fingered gloves. I just did these thrummed mittens because I had not done thrumming before, and they were quite fun.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Beginners should not shy away from this class. Marly gives very good instructions and tips along the way and you'll do fine. More advanced knitters will enjoy this class as well as there are some nice little tips and useful information. Start at the beginning and watch all the videos, you also will learn something, I did!

Thank you.

Wonderful! Where di you get the stuff for thrumming?

Got it at my LYS, but I was also looking around and KnitPicks and WEBS both have several different types you can get. I also discovered that at some online places if you put in the search word "spinning supplies" this thrumming material will come up, other good search words: roving, and top.

Does this pattern have bobbles? Is it in the mittens and gloves class?

It's not bobbles, it's "thrums" which are simply pieces of fabric put into the knitting. Yes, it is in the mittens and gloves class. There is a mitten pattern that is several different ways and this is just one if the variations, it was quite fun. It's a very good class.

Interesting, will consider this course!

I made several pair of these last spring and started off an avalanche of knitting in our Nimble Fingers Group. After making everyone else a pair I finally got a pair for myself. Also made the thrummed slippers.

Ooooooo, slippers would be cool!
