Threads Zentangle

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Paper Crafts

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Unisex

Style: Hipster, Funky, Traditional, Mod, Retro / Vintage, Whimsical

What was your inspiration?

I used Micron pens 1, 3, 5, 8 and a 2B pencil for shading and a gum eraser for corrections and highlights.

What are you most proud of?

I am always happy when I get the shading and highlights acceptable.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you haven't done Zentangle, you SHOULD. It's very relaxing and rewarding. =-)

Hi splatterpunk, I love your Zentangling. I am a zentangler as well and have been doing it since the beginning of the year. Although I have not shared any of my art work here. I am currently doing an artwork 12 inches x 16inches for a christmas present. Once its finshed I will post it here to show you. My plan is too actually incorporate my designs into my quilting and learn how to sew them. I initially though that is what you were showing here. A zentangle which you had done on the sewing machine. Hence the use of the word "thread". Well congratulations on a great job. Julieannabell.

Hi Julieannabell, Thank you. =-) Incorporating zentangle into quilting is a fantastic idea! I would love to see something like that and I'd love to see your finished 12x16 piece. I am a quilter as well and I named this one threads because it reminds me of the little pile of cut threads that always gathers at my feet after a long session of sewing. lol. I look forward to seeing your work. =-)

At first glance, I thought it a bunch of music symbols clustered together, but then I looked again and saw that it wasn't. How cool!

Keep coming back and looking at the shading. Sections really do pop out of the drawing. I don't draw, but this look fantastic to me! Well done.
