What materials did you use? Cotton fabric for the background and borders. I embroidered the corner squares. This is a picture of my son. I'm adding the orginial picture so you can compare..

What are you most proud of? THis wall hanging turned out pretty good, I need more practice in getting the eyes right.. My son's picture has smiling eyes.. I didn't capture that feature.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go for it.. It's really quite easy..

Great job! I am trying to decide if I should take this class. Don't know if I have the talent required. This has inspired me to give it a try.

Oh yeh,, try it.. It isn't hard,, Get a picture like mine son enlarge it , put it up to window so you can trace it on fabric.. The rest is very easy.. Buy the pencils and stuff she recommends.. You won't have any problem

I clicked on your photo because it really grabbed me. You can tell it was done with love and it shows in your work. I have used Really Color https://www.reallycolor.com/ for turning photos into "coloring pages. I absolutely love this program. It is so easy to sketch from an actual black/white outline of your original photo which helps to create a more "real like" image. I use these pages in my sewing/sketching projects. Yes, it does cost, however, I had purchased an inexpensive package through a Groupon Offer.
