To make the squid, you need two old neckties with felt on the inside (peek or feel inside to see if you have felt, rather than mesh). Cut the ties open and remove the felt ties inside. For this project, you need two old neckties with felt on the inside (peek or feel inside to find out whether you have felt or mesh). You also need scissors, embroidery thread, and polyester filling or the equivalent. Safety eyes and fabric paint are optional. Although I categorized this as a "toy," I wouldn't give it to a small child to play with. I'd hate to see what baby slobber would do to him. ;)

I wanted to create a new necktie craft that didn't involve a lot of sewing.

This is a quick, easy project that does not require tremendous sewing skill, so give it a shot!
